I am growing

“The beautiful thing about growth is that is does not have to be big and dramatic. Anyone can start at any time with small life changes that can add up to have big impacts and improvements.

Growing is open to interpretation. One can grow in any number of ways. The past few years I have almost completely transformed my life. I’m growing into my confidence, my Dharma, and my spirituality.”

I began a serious self yoga practice a little over 2 years ago. The origin story is not a particularly unique one. I at the time had been in a loving but failing relationship when my father suddenly passed away.
Diving deeper into the practice and study allowed me to better deal with the feelings and emotions I was trying to navigate at that difficult time in my life. I better understood the feelings of loss and hurt, having learned some tools to cope with those heavy emotions.

The practice also allowed me to realize the toxic work environment my career had become. The pressures of the job and increasing demands on my time and energy were no longer serving me in the ways it had before. So after completing my yoga teacher training, I found a new career and left the job I had once loved for 18 years.

Delving deeper into the philosophy and mindfulness practices that are the bedrock behind yoga as simply an exercise, also empowered me to reconnect with a spiritual center. Regaining faith in a Supreme power gives me comfort that there is order, understanding and purpose to life. A new sense of Dharma.

I owe more graditude than I can express to all of my teachers, family and friends for their knowledge, love, support, kindness, and guidance.

My adventure as an aspiring and practicing yogi is really just beginning and I would be so happy to share my adventures with you all.Jai Shri Krishna 🙏🏻 “ - Tommy
